FRESH WATERMELON JUICE

3-5 servings (depending on how big your watermelon is :)), 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 medium ripe watermelon, sliced in half
Juice of half a lime (optional for extra flavor and digestibility, adjust to taste)
DIRECTIONS
Slice the watermelon in half and scoop out the inner fruit using a large spoon and place directly into the blender. Discard the rind or save for applying right onto the skin to heal rashes and hives :).
Add the lime juice if using and blend the watermelon into a juice. Strain any excess pulp through a fine mesh strainer. Enjoy!
Notes
Remember to enjoy melon by itself - it is best to have this away from other foods - great summer pool drink!
Watermelon juice is great for clearing heat and inflammation from the body. Specifically, the kidneys, urinary tract, skin, blood, gums/ mouth ulcers, and overall excess body heat.
Watermelon is very cooling and hydrating, hence why it helps in all of the above tissues and conditions.
Option to add 1/4 tsp of freshly ground coriander seeds for an extra kidney/urinary tract and anti-inflammatory boost. This would also aid in digestion and can be used to reduce heat and fevers in the body.
Best enjoyed fresh, but the juice and rind will last in the fridge for up to 3 days.
