FRESH WHEATGRASS JUICE

Makes about 2 cups, 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 cup freshly cut organic wheatgrass
2 cups water
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 tsp - 1 tbsp raw local honey (adjust to taste)
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until well combined.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer (while preserving the juice) and press the pulp with the back of a spoon or fork to extract all the juice from the plant.
Enjoy for up to 3 days!
Notes
Fresh wheatgrass juice is one of my favorite juice preparations - so much better than the powder if you can find fresh wheatgrass. Your body and taste buds will thank you.
I have used fresh wheatgrass juice for a variety of ailments in the body. Inflamed digestion, general cleansing, weight loss, skin issues, allergies, detoxing from sugar/ a period of eating poorly, UTI/ urinary problems, an overworked body that does not want to get sick, general detoxing. One of my clients with monthly UTIs felt like she was getting a UTI and we used wheatgrass juice to get rid of it by having a shot every hour until her symptoms subsided - it went away within 24 hours and never came back.
Wheatgrass is a great summer plant - it is cooling and slightly demulcent - making it great for pittas. The way the juice is prepared in this recipe is great for all doshas.
You can have one 2oz shot of wheatgrass juice in the mornings for general cleansing or you can have multiple shots throughout the day if you feel like you are getting sick and want an immune boost.
Since wheatgrass is cleansing, avoid having consecutively for long periods - 6 weeks consecutive max.
