Makes 4-5 cups, Steeps Overnight
INGREDIENTS
5-6 Whole Cloves
6-8 Peppercorns
5-6 Cardamom Seeds
2 Cinnamon Sticks
1-2 Inches of Fresh Ginger Root (peeled & sliced)
8 Cups Water
DIRECTIONS
Slightly crush the peppercorns & seeds with the back of a knife or mortar and pestle.
Add all ingredients to water.
Bring to a gentle boil, reduce to a simmer, slightly covered for 1 hour.
Turn off heat, and allow to sit, covered, overnight
Strain herbs and drink.
Notes
Great recipe in the fall, winter, or around holiday time (the whole house will smell like Christmas)!
Option to serve with a splash of warm plant-based milk to make a creamy latte-like drink.
I recommend making a big pot of this so you don't have to make it all the time since it does have to steep overnight.
