CHERRY BOWL WITH CARDAMOM & MINT



2 servings, 5 minutes


INGREDIENTS


  • 1½ cups fresh sweet cherries, pitted and chopped

  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom

  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh mint (optional but lovely)

  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup (optional)

  • Tiny pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS


  1. In a bowl, toss the pitted cherries with cardamom, mint, maple syrup, and a tiny pinch of salt.

  2. Taste — if not sweet enough, drizzle with more maple syrup and toss gently again.

  3. Serve and enjoy!



Notes

  • For when it is late May/ early June and the cherries are abundant and you are just bored with your usual cherry bowl snack - liven it up with fresh herbs and cardamom!

  • The mint and cardamom cools the heat of the cherries, the salt balances the sweetness while adding a little more moisture and hydration and the maple syrup enhances the sweetness while also balancing the heat of cherries.
