ENERGIZING CACAO

1 serving, 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp cacao powder
1-2 tsp coconut sugar (adjust to taste)
2 finger pinch of cardamom powder, freshly ground (or sub cinnamon powder, optional)
1 cup hot water
1-2 tsp coconut oil (adjust to taste)
DIRECTIONS
Add the cacao, coconut sugar, and cardamom/ cinnamon powder to a mug with 1/4 cup of the hot water. Whisk until combined and a paste forms.
Add the remaining amount of hot water and whisk in the coconut oil. Enjoy as a warm morning beverage.

Notes
Cacao does contain caffeine. If sensitive to caffeine, make sure you add the cardamom powder and reduce the amount of cacao powder - start with 1/2 tsp and increase as needed.
Cacao is very uplifting to the mind and body. It opens the heart, nourishes reproductive organs, relaxes the muscles, and is helpful for coughs.
Cacao can aggravate both vata and pitta. Have in moderation for these body types.
It is recommended to have cacao in moderation for everyone in general as Ayurveda considers it more of a medicine than a food, especially good quality cacao ;).
