FIG ALMOND DATE SHAKE



1 serving, 5 minutes


INGREDIENTS


  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 2 finger pinch of ginger powder

  • 2-4 saffron threads, crushed between fingers (omit if having at nighttime)

  • 1 dried date, pit removed, chopped

  • 1 fresh fig, chopped, stem removed


DIRECTIONS


  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Add to a small pot and warm over medium heat. Heat until warm (about 3-5 minutes).

  3. Serve warm and enjoy!



Notes

  • This is ojas (vitality, immunity, ability to withstand stress and disease) in a cup!

  • Grounding to the mind and perfect before sleep as a night cap BUT just omit the saffron so you don't get a kick of energy before bed.

  • This is also a great drink to have if you are recovering from a stressful period or just want more energy, vitality, and happiness in your life.

  • This drink can be a little heavy for kaphas. If kapha, sub the almond milk for soy milk and increase the amount of ginger in the drink. That would make it lighter, warmer, and more digestible for you!
