GINGER TEA



Makes 2 cups, 30-40 minutes


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled, sliced 

  • 3 cups water 


DIRECTIONS

  1. Add water and ginger to small pot and bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce to simmer.

  3. Allow to simmer partially covered for 30 minutes or until about 2 cups liquid remains.

  4. Enjoy warm, 2 cups a day between meals



Notes

  • Everyone should know how to make a classic ginger tea.

  • Good for all doshas but can be a little spicy for pittas. If pitta, it is okay to have this in the fall-early spring months. Use in moderation in late spring and summer.

  • Ginger is termed as "universal medicine" in Ayurveda. It is great for digestion, coughs, colds, flus, improving lymphatic flow, nausea, motion sickness, circulatory sluggishness, migraines, and more!
