NOURISHING OATMEAL

Updated: Jan 28

1 serving, 5-10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder or any sweet digestive spice mix

  • 1 tsp flax seeds

  • 1 tsp organic maple syrup

  • Pinch Himalayan salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add milk & oats to a small saucepan and bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce to a simmer, add flax, cinnamon powder, and salt.

  3. Simmer until oats are cooked (about 5-10 minutes). Top with maple syrup. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Super simple not-too-heavy version of oatmeal.

  • Since it is a small portion, kaphas can do okay with this as a breakfast during the fall and winter months. BUT once it turns to late winter and spring, kaphas should generally skip breakfast or have a grapefruit and avoid most grains.

  • I usually recommend this to be used as an easy to digest breakfast during cleansing periods.
