FUDGY DATE BROWNIES

20 brownies, 20 minutes


INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup medjool dates, pitted, chopped

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1/2 cup almond butter

  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds

  • 4 tbsp cacao powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder, freshly ground

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional, omit if sattvic)

  • 1/2 salt 2-3 tbsp dark chocolate chips


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Add the dates and water to a food processor and process until blended into a paste.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients except the chocolate chips and process until combined. The batter should be thick and sticky.

  4. Transfer to a greased 9x9 baking dish.

  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.

  6. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the tops look dry.

  7. Allow to cool before serving, the brownies will firm upon cooling but will still be a fudgy consistency. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you want a healthy brownie recipe that actually tastes like brownies, this is it.

  • Good for all doshas as a sweet treat or party favor.

  • Option to add nuts if you want to add a crunchy texture - coconut for pitta, any nut for vata, peeled and chopped almonds for kapha.
