PITTA DIGESTIVE SPICE MIX

Makes about 1/2 cup, 5 minutes, good for 30 days


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tbsp Coriander Seeds

  • 2 Tbsp Fennel Seeds

  • 2 Tbsp Cumin Seeds

  • 1 Tbsp Cardamom Seeds

  • 1 Tbsp Ground Turmeric


DIRECTIONS

  1. Dry roast the seeds over medium high heat until aromatic, stirring frequently (about 2-3 minutes)

  2. Grind all the ingredients in a spice or coffee grinder to make a uniform powder

  3. Store in glass spice shaker jar

  • Have this spice mix on hand during the warmer months.

  • Use to season any savory meal to make it easier to digest.

The first time I made this, I dry-roasted as specified and then put them in my spice grinder (a coffee grinder I use exclusively for grinding spices and flaxseed). However, it stuck to the grinder sides and lid hot out of the pan due to condensation! Let it cool for 5 minutes before putting it in your grinder!😉
