CUMIN RICE

3-4 servings, 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp ghee
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 cup basmati rice, rinsed
Salt to taste
DIRECTIONS
Heat the ghee in a medium pot over medium heat.
Add the cumin seeds. Temper the cumin seeds until aromatic. Add the rice. Stir the rice with the cumin and the ghee for 1-2 minutes.
Add 2 cups of water Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer & cover.
Cook until the rice is soft (about 20 minutes). Serve with a spritz of fresh lemon or lime juice (optional).
Notes
Good for all doshas but kaphas should have rice/ most grains in moderation as it can be too heavy for them.
This is my go-to grain side option for most meals. It goes great with anything and is very easy to make.
